Insight Trader is a charting technical analysis program with fundamental capability and has four functions. The first is essential and is what we call the Base charting module while the remaining three are optional modules as follows:

Base charting module (essential)

Base module draws charts, calculates indicators and does general technical analysis

Optional modules

1. Portfolio Manager keeps track of your purchases, sales, dividends and allows you to value your portfolios at any time.
2. System module performs scans by interrogating your database to filter out all the securities that satisfy the technical and fundamental criteria that you have specified in your system. It also does profitability testing of Buy/Sell systems.
3. Live module allows you to chart live during the day in real time so you get every trade that goes through and allows you to draw tick charts (ie trade by trade charts) or compress to say 1 minute bars or 5 minute candles etc. A data feed subscription from MarketCast is required to operate in live mode.

You can choose the Base charting module (i) alone (ii) together with one optional module or (iii) together with 3 optional modules. Most purchasers choose the whole package as in that case we give you one module for free.

Database Manager Subscription

In addition to the software we produce the Database Manager - a subscription service downloadable once a week:

The Database Manager housekeeps your ASX database that you are building from your end of day data supplier by performing the following four functions every week:

1. Adjusts the charts for capital reconstructions resulting from issues, splits, consolidations, removals, new listings, name changes, merging
2. Provides the fundamental information of earnings, dividends, franking, net asset backing from which a number of fundamental ratios are calculated.
3. Organises your securities within the ASX GICS Industry Sectors to allow you to manipulate your database according to these sectors and to perform Sector Analysis.
4. Provides "on chart" indications of forthcoming dividends. A coloured line will appear on the chart on the future date that a share is due to go ex dividend. The length of the line is equal to the size of the dividend plus the imputation credit. The Database Manager is highly recommended.

The Database Manager service is $198.00 for the first year and $154.00 pa thereafter.
